“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). Great Harvest 2027 is a call to the church to unite and collaborate for the opening of North Korea. The Great Harvest has two components:
1. First is the preparation and training of culturally, personally, relationally, spiritually, and vocationally mature Christians embodying the values of unity, healing, and reconciliation.
2. The second component is to strategically adopt one of the 27 major cities of North Korea and begin praying and preparing for the harvest. The projects are a means to healing and reconciliation on the peninsula following the values of unity, healing, and reconciliation.
By preparing a workforce and strategically preparing for a holistic city development, we hope to be ready when North Korea opens up for foreign investment
Advance Reah’s vision for unity and collaboration with your membership. Your monthly tax-deductible gift of $10 or more will help support Reah’s work to unite and foster collaboration to engage North Korea more effectively and advance the church’s role in the unification of the Korean peninsula. Examples of various initiatives and projects that your donation will support under each membership category.
On #GivingTuesday 2020, we are looking for the first 50 "Founding Members" of Reah International. Becoming a Founding Member would mean that you would commit to pray with and for us and give a monthly pledge of $50 or more in support of what Reah stands for and what we desire to do. More specifically, over the next seven years, Reah's goals are:
1. To gather and unite all Western Christian organizations and churches engaged in North Korea work; 2. To gather and unite South Korean churches and organizations which desire to collaborate with Western organizations and churches for North Korea work.
One way we will do this is through the Great Harvest 2027 - a call to the global Church to collaboratively train the next generation to be communities of healing and reconciliation in the 27 major cities of North Korea by 2027; please go to www.greatharvest2027.com for more information!
One of Reah's core values is unity -- that as we work together as One Body in complete unity, the world will come to know God's love through Christ. The C-Center will be one place where we can live this out.
The "C" in C-Center stands for Christ and Collaboration. Based upon Ephesians 1:10b “to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ," we envision the C-Center to be a hub where Christian individuals, groups, and churches can come together to pray, train, research, and strategize for engaging with the people of North Korea.
This need is all the more urgent as in recent years, many fieldworkers have been displaced from their home bases due to various restrictions and security issues. The C-Center will be available for these fieldworkers and groups to find like-minded others and regroup in South Korea.
It will be a space where South Korean, North Koreans, Korean Diaspora, and international "Lovers of Korea" Christians can gather and live out "unity" as we seek to reach NK together -- in the spirit of unity and collaboration, in Christ.
Through the generosity of Jubilee Church, we have secured a building in the heart of Myeongdong. Reah will have access to classrooms, a large chapel, and a café for meetings.
- Double the donation: A donor couple wrote us that they will do a $5,000 matching fund. Your donation will be doubled up to $5,000. Your donation will enable us to purchase equipment and technology that would enable us to collaborate more effectively with individuals and organizations all around the world.
My name is Jamie Kim and I am the director of Reah International.
The word for me in 2022 is from Isaiah 52:2 Enlarge the
place of your tent,
stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.
For me and Reah, I believe that we are to enlarge our ministry from mainly serving the field to serving the church, the body of Christ. Reah's role is to equip and empower the church to train and disciple their members for ministry, local and global.
There is a role for the whole body of Christ in global engagement. As the pandemic has shown, we can work remotely and be just as effective if we are creative and diligent. There is a place and a role for you whether you are on the field, preparing to go, or in your home country. This can happen as the body of Christ works together to support a flourishing quality of life in North Korea. Let's pray and work together to support a flourishing quality of life in North Korea and beyond!
Many of the field workers are highly educated and competent people in their fields. They have given up their comfortable living and financial security in their homelands to give their lives for the work inside. Due to the pioneering nature of the work inside, many things cannot be anticipated. This project will enable us to support these workers in special needs as they arise.
North Korea Workers: Due to the pandemic, many of the workers have not had fellowship with one another for over two years. Before Empower Portland, we will be holding two meetings where we will share what we have been going through during the pandemic and have time to minister to one another. We have about 33 people (workers and their children) attending Empower. Your donation of $2000 will help with the meals for the pre-Empower meetings of ministry.
Reah Volunteer Staff: Empower is organized by Reah staff who are volunteers. As you can imagine it takes hours of labor to organize the conference from the ground up. Moreover, they are working hard for follow-up and other post-conference responsibilities. Reah staff are highly competent folks who believe in the vision and the mission of Reah and are joyfully volunteering their talent and time to serve others who want to engage the people of the DPRK. Your donation of $5000 will provide their housing during the conference.
Students and others in need: There is a lack of young people in their 20s who are preparing for the work in North Korea. We want to encourage college students to attend Empower. Your donation will help to subsidize the registration and housing costs of those who are called to serve the people of the DPRK and are still in school.
